Understand the conditions that change battery runtime and temperature-maintenance time.
There is no single runtime for every drink
A heated mug uses more energy when the liquid starts cooler, the room is cold, the selected target is high or the drink volume is large. Published figures should always be read together with their test conditions.
GREATIC GT-1 stated performance
At 55°C under stated conditions, GREATIC specifies up to 150 minutes for 10oz, 120 minutes for 14oz and 90 minutes for 16oz. Actual use varies with starting liquid temperature, ambient temperature, drink volume, target temperature and battery state.
A powered coaster changes the use case
Battery runtime describes use away from the connected charging coaster. Returning the compatible system to its powered coaster supports longer desk routines and prepares the removable base for the next mobile period.
How to compare products fairly
Compare the same capacity, target temperature and starting conditions. Also check whether the product reports liquid temperature, whether it works without an app and whether its powered component can be replaced separately.
Desk-powered warmth is measured differently
GT-2 does not have a battery-runtime claim because it works on its connected base. It maintains warmth at one of three presets while the mug is on that base; its phone-charging mode is a separate function used after the mug is removed.
