Use your drinking pace, preferred temperature, cleaning routine and replacement options to decide.
They are most useful for slow drinkers
A heated mug solves a specific problem: coffee cooling while you work, read, study or care for other tasks. If you already finish every drink quickly, adjustable heat may add less value.
Check the temperature range and runtime conditions
Look for a stated adjustable range and read the conditions behind any battery claim. Runtime changes with the starting liquid temperature, room temperature, drink volume, selected target and battery state.
Decide whether app features matter
Some buyers want live temperature, saved drinks and ready notifications; others prefer buttons on the mug. GT-1 supports essential temperature adjustment without the app, while the companion app adds those connected features.
Consider care and long-term replacement
Read the cleaning limits before buying and check whether a battery or electronics fault requires replacing the whole mug. The GT-1 separates the powered base from the stainless-steel mug body so a confirmed base-side fault can be handled more narrowly.
Choose portable or desk-powered heat
Choose GT-1 when you need battery-powered temperature control away from its charging coaster. Choose the 16oz GT-2 for a connected desk routine with three preset temperatures and compatible phone charging after the mug is removed. GT-2 has no battery or app.
